Office/Professional Internships

Our Office/Professional Internships engage students and teach you valuable work skills that will be important for the remainder of your career. When you bring your ambition and talents to our team, you’ll work on real-time projects and initiatives, while contributing directly to your department’s performance. Take part in career development discussions with your leader. Network with other colleagues in the organization. Earn competitive compensation, including hourly rates and additional stipends. What will I be doing?

You will work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks in a supportive learning environment. Your project work will be both independent and as part of team, and will deliver impact against department goals and objectives.

Program components include:

  • Real-time projects and initiatives that contribute to your department’s performance
  • Structured orientation and overall program plan
  • Feedback and career development discussions with your leader
  • Interactions with other leaders in the organization (including executive leader touch bases for MBA interns)
  • Networking opportunities with other current and former interns now in permanent roles within the organization
  • Exposure to the CVS Caremark organization as a whole, outside of your particular business unit
  • Competitive compensation including hourly rate; additional potential stipend may be available for select candidates based on individual relocation and housing needs

Who is eligible for the Internship Program?

Students eligible for the Office/Professional Internship Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates for undergraduate internships must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at a four-year college or university and be entering their senior year; candidates for MBA internships must be enrolled in a one or two-year MBA program
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Study in a program applicable to the internships available
  • Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program (10 weeks)
  • Submit completed application by the deadline
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
  • Have the ability to work in the United States with no restrictions
  • Have local housing for the length of the program

Mail Order Pharmacy Internships

Through the CVS Caremark Mail Order Pharmacy Internship Program, you’ll provide invaluable service to our patients and work for a company that is redefining health care every day. Our program gives you exposure to Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) services, including mail order operations, clinical services, drug exceptions, prescription edits, automated dispensing systems, automated packing and shipping methods, quality programs, counseling and management skills. Your skills and education will be put to good use every day, as you address the many facets of our business.

Retail Store Management Internships

Finding tomorrow’s leaders in today’s students. With an internship in our Retail Management team, you’ll develop and present a comprehensive project that is tied to real-world business activities and initiatives at CVS/pharmacy—and help us build a brighter future, one achievement at a time. Develop your business and leadership skills. Interact and network with members of field management. Attend regional and district meetings. Your work will be integral to meeting the needs of customers and colleagues alike. What will I be doing?

Through a CVS/pharmacy Store Management Internship Program, you will develop your business and leadership skills to help you reach your career goals. We are an organization committed to the professional growth of our colleagues and offer ample opportunity for our Retail Store Management Interns to learn first-hand about career paths and success at CVS/pharmacy.

  • Program components include: First-hand experience with a store team while gaining a basic overview of store, district, and region operations
  • Workshops and travel days centered around topics such as leadership, loss prevention, district manager responsibilities, and human resources that will allow you to interact and network with many members of field management
  • Region and district meeting participation
  • Opportunity to formally present your comprehensive project to members of field and corporate management

Who is eligible for the Internship Program?

  • Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student in a college or university. Students must be of Junior or Senior standing in a Business, Retail, or Pharmacy program
  • Candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Candidates should possess leadership qualities and skills and be excited about a potential career in management and retail. Pharmacy students must be interested in pursuing a pharmacy business career. Clinical pharmacy requirements will not be met during this program
  • Candidates must pass a background check and drug test prior to hiring and being officially accepted into the program
  • Candidates should be U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents able to work in the United States with no restrictions

Supply Chain Internships

When you choose an internship with our Supply Chain team, you’ll play an integral role in organizing, preparing and delivering sales floor and pharmacy products to our CVS/pharmacy stores. What will I be doing?

You will work 40 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks in a supportive learning environment. Your project work will enable you to work closely with your department supervisor.

Program components include:

  • First-hand experience with a Distribution Center team while gaining a basic overview of Distribution Center, region and network operations
  • Project work throughout the summer which contributes directly to company performance, quality, safety and service
  • Competitive compensation
  • Opportunity to formally present your comprehensive project to the Distribution Center Management Team for final evaluation

Who is eligible for the Internship Program?

Students eligible for the Supply Chain Internship Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Entering their Junior or Senior year in the upcoming Fall semester, or attending Graduate School at an accredited college or university
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Students majoring in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Distribution Center Management or Industrial Engineering should apply
  • Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program (approximately 10 weeks)
  • Submit completed application by the deadline
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
  • Have local housing for the length of Summer Intern Program
  • Have strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular activities
